A startup called Climate 101 is trying to make it easier for people to take action on climate change, and it's just gotten a big injection of cash from a major investor.
The blockchain-based platform says that French venture capital firm FZF Ventures will be investing $5 million in the first half of 2024, reports the Wall Street Journal.
The money will be used to beef up the platform's infrastructure, improve its user experience, and expand its reach to a wider audience.
"This investment is a testament to [FZF Ventures'] commitment to fostering projects that drive meaningful change and sustainable growth," a Climate 101 rep says in a statement.
The company, which says it aims to create a "decentralized ecosystem that incentivizes sustainable practices and empowers eco-conscious individuals and organizations," plans to use the investment to "create a decentralized ecosystem that incentivizes sustainable practices and empowers eco-conscious individuals and organizations," per a press release.
