The University of Pittsburgh is known for its green image, and the school is continuing to make strides in that area.
The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette takes a look at some of the ways the school is greening up, including the installation of solar panels on three of its buildings and the creation of an Office of Sustainability in Health Sciences.
"Pitt's sustainability leadership extends beyond campus thanks to the innovative research by our faculty," says the school in a press release.
"Earlier this year, she led a 17-member Faculty Ad Hoc Committee on Sustainability, which recommended the creation of a Pitt Sustainability Institute to position the University to tackle our most pressing environmental elevate the University's research capacity, enhance sustainability education and expand partnerships, positioning the University to tackle our most pressing environmental challenges."
