The BuildLAB is an on-campus machine and woodworking space where students can work on academic and personal projects.

embody Virginia Tech's philosophy of applied learning by fostering a supportive environment for innovation of all kinds.

It is supported by the Myers-Lawson School of Construction at Virginia Tech.

The Build Lab is a student run workshop where students come in to work on personal projects, school projects, and we teach them how to run the equipment.

Weston Mill-based social enterprise Surplus Rescue CIC (Community Interest Company) recycles and finds homes for unwanted furniture. To date, it has received “extensive amounts” of quality second-hand furniture including desks, pedestals, cupboards and office chairs from a former local authority office equipment – and wants to find them a good home.
