Existing law requires the Department of Housing and Community Development to develop a recommended improved regional housing need allocation process and methodology.
This bill would make nonsubstantive changes to those provisions.
It would create a fair, transparent, and objective process for identifying housing needs across the state.
The bill would also encourage increased development to address the state's housing affordability issues and improve compliance and outcomes through incentives and enforcement.

Foundation Provides Interest-free Loans to Start Up Social Enterprises
The Charities Aid Foundation has set up a scheme, called the Social Enterprise Assist, that will render interest-free loans of up to £10,000 each to help social enterprise start-ups.
