Our Region's States Lack in Innovation
Ohio ranks 42nd and West Virginia is 49th in WalletHub's Most and Least Innovative States (2025) The District of Columbia, Massachusetts, California, Colorado and Washington state are at the top of the rankings.
The most innovative states are especially attractive to people who have majored in science, technology, engineering and math, said Chip Lupo, WalletHub analyst.

Social Enterprise Is Re-Housing Unwanted Furniture
Weston Mill-based social enterprise Surplus Rescue CIC (Community Interest Company) recycles and finds homes for unwanted furniture. To date, it has received “extensive amounts” of quality second-hand furniture including desks, pedestals, cupboards and office chairs from a former local authority office equipment – and wants to find them a good home.
